Trans-umbilical breast augmentation (or TUBA) is a procedure for inserting saline-filled breast implants, above or below the chest muscle, through a small incision in the belly button. It is the least invasive procedure as compared to other breast augmentation options and allows for the quickest recovery.

After making a small incision at the navel, an instrument is used to create tunnels just below the skin up into the breast area. The position of the tunnels can be checked with an endoscope to ensure the the tunnel is above or below the chest muscle according to the preoperative plan. Once the position is confirmed, a disposable breast implant (called a sizer) attached to a long fill tube is rolled up tightly and passed up the tunnel into position behind the breast. The sizer is inflated with air or saline. As it expands, it creates a pocket for the future implant. When the surgeon is satisfied that the pocket is adequate, the sizer is then deflated and removed. The final implant is then passed up the tunnel and inflated to the appropriate size with saline. The fill tube is removed and a few dissolvable stitches are used to close the incision.

Bandages placed around the breast following the TUBA procedure are removed the following day and the patient may shower immediately. The patient can wear a bra or not wear a bra. Most patients tend to prefer a sports bra initially. Non-strenuous activities can be resumed as soon as the patient feels up to it. Exercise, heavy lifting, and other strenuous activity can be resumed after two weeks.

Some of the advantages of the TUBA procedure include a single, virtually undetectable scar which is located away from the breasts, a faster recovery, and less trauma to breast tissue. There is also less risk of damage to the nerves supplying sensation to the breast and nipple. As with other approaches, the patient should also be able to breastfeed following the TUBA procedure.

Because it is a newer technique for breast augmentation, not many plastic surgeons offer the TUBA procedure. When searching for thuê xe ô tô giá rẻ tại hà nội a doctor to perform this operation, it is important to ensure that the doctor is certified by the American Board of Plastic Surgery (ABPS) and has experience with this approach. It is always good to look at before/after pictures or talk to previous patients.

The TUBA procedure is a quick and easy approach to putting in saline breast implants and down time is minimal. As with any operation, there are risks as well as benefits. These should be discussed with your doctor.
