Here's what today's annular solar #eclipse (when the Moon is in line in between Earth and the Sun) looked like from @Space_Station. We saw the shadow of the #Moon on the #Earth below, just above the horizon (central gray area above horizon). #SolarEclipse2019 #SolarEclipse pic.twitter.com/Q944ZzfFEF

Lucasfilm I've been waiting to witness a kiss like this in my favorite sci-fi franchise for what feels like forever. Director J.J. Abrams has been hinting since The Force Awakens that Star Wars would eventually have gay characters, and it finally happened.

— tara (@taralikestea) December 26, 2019 The view was little different from space, where astronauts on the International Space Station instead looked earth-ward and caught the shadow of the moon on our planet:

For those who might have missed it, the kiss happens in the background between the character Commander Larma D'Acy (played by Amanda Lawrence) and a female Resistance pilot. The smooch takes place at the end of the movie and goes by in a blink, but it was a big deal to me.

id="article-body" class="row" section="article-body"> We were treated to three solar eclipses in 2019, with the final one sending us into 2020 with a "ring of fire" in the sky. On Thursday, part of the eastern hemisphere was treated to the only annular solar eclipse of the year, which is when the moon passes in front of the sun at a distance that doesn't quite cover the entire solar disc, creating a freaky eye of Sauron effect.

Mexican news outlet El Imparcial first reported last Friday on the Cybertruck order after San Luis Potosí Mayor Adrian Esper Cardenas provided the official word on the order. The mayor said the order was an act of "common sense" since the city expects drastically lower maintenance costs compared to its fleet of gasoline-fed vehicles. Electric cars are notoriously simpler to maintain with fewer moving parts.

All of this comes to the tune of a $394 million investment from Toyota into the startup company. And with it, the automaker is playing the long-term game, specifically noting this kind of transportation isn't ready for prime time any time soon.

On Wednesday, the Japanese automaker said it's forged a partnership with Joby Aviation. The startup company has worked on its electric vertical take-off and landing machine (eVTOL) vehicle for commercial use and Toyota plans to provide its expertise in the process.

Goldbelly What could be sweeter for your honey than chocolates infused with an actual honey center? The filling is a rich liquid caramel, and the bees are hand painted with yellow and black cocoa butter so they'll delight even before the first bite.

Tim Stevens/Roadshow The city of San Luis Potosi, Mexico, plans to reshape its police vehicle lineup with a rather substantial order for 15 Tesla Cybertrucks. The central-Mexico city is the latest to express its desire to enlist zero-emissions vehicles for police duty. Of course, these are preorders available for cancel at any time with a dollar amount of $1,500 total. It only costs $100 to reserve one of the electric pickups.

Getty Images Clearview AI, a controversial facial recognition app being used by US law enforcement to identify suspects and other people, is reportedly eyeing global expansion. It wants to sell its services to law enforcement in 22 more countries, BuzzFeed News said Wednesday, citing a Clearview AI document that was reportedly part of a November 2019 presentation given to police in Miami.

Now it's getting what I think I can safely call one of the most controversial vehicles in recent years. On Tuesday, the Dubai Police's official Twitter account tweeted an image confirming it will add a Tesla Cybertruck to its fleet. The Cybertruck will serve alongside other metal such as the Bugatti Veyron, resumo de tcc como fazer Lamborghini Aventador, Ferrari FF and many more. Most recently, the department added a Mercedes-AMG GT 63 S.

Knowing Dubai's tastes, I have to imagine whenever it's time to spec its Cybertruck, it'll be looking at the top-of-the-line model that Tesla says will boast a 500-plus mile range. That model also uses a tri-motor system that will surely make plenty of power. Horsepower wasn't discussed at the reveal, but CEO Elon Musk said the electric pickup will go from 0-60 mph in 2.9 seconds. That's plenty quick to hang with some of the best that currently serve in the Dubai Police's ranks.
